What does my warranty cover?

Cruise provides a 12 month (1 year) comprehensive warranty from the date of purchase on all parts except front panel and plastic parts and, thereafter 48 months (4 years) additional warranty on the compressor subject to company policies. The warranty provided is valid only if the warranty certificate bears the customer's complete details & official details of Cruise’s Authorized Channel Partner.

When should I get the first service done for my AC?

It is essential for the first servicing of the air conditioner to be carried out after 4 months of installation. It is ideal to get your air conditioner unit serviced at least twice a year for a good cooling experience and proper maintenance of the unit.

COOLING HELP

What should I do if my air conditioner is not cooling properly?


  • Make sure that COOL MODE is selected and the temperature is set lower than 24 degrees Celsius.

  • Make sure the air inlets and outlets of the indoor and outdoor units are not blocked by any objects or clogged due to dust.

  • Make sure the air filters are not clogged with dirt. Cooling efficiency is lower if the filter is polluted hence it is recommended to wash the Air Filter periodically. Learn about cleaning the air filter in the CLEAN & CARE section.

  • Make sure that the voltage stabilizer output is above 180V, if the input voltage to the Air Conditioner is lower than 180V, the Air conditioner cannot work normally.

  • Make sure ventilation fans in the room are not operating.

  • The room size might be bigger than the capacity of the Air-Conditioner, resulting in the room not getting cooled properly. Also, make sure that the room is shielded well with all the doors and windows closed.

What factors will impact the electricity consumption of my air conditioner?


  • Temperature setting - the electricity consumption of air conditioners depends on the thermostat temperature. The lower you keep the air conditioner temperature; the higher will be the electricity consumption.

  • Other electronic appliances in the room - All electrical appliances emit some amount of heat in the room which eventually gets cooled by the air conditioner. Even bulbs and lights emit heat along with the light. Thus if a room has a lot of lights, it will need more air conditioning - hence increasing electricity consumption.

  • Clogged air filters lead to higher consumption of electricity to perform regular operations. Hence cleaning dust filters regularly is highly recommended.

What is the ideal temperature that should be set?

It is recommended that you maintain the ideal temperature for thermal comfort between 23 degrees C and 25 degrees C in summers.

CLEAN & CARE

How often should I clean the air filters?

Air purifying filters help in removing fine dust, pollen, tobacco smoke and odour in the room. Make sure that you replace them when their colour turns dark even if filters are not three months old. Dust filters should be cleaned every two weeks and be replaced every 2-3 years or if damaged. Failure to do so will impair the flow and cooling capacity of your system.

What precautions should I take to make sure that the AC functions properly?


  • Get your Ac serviced at least twice a year.

  • Make sure that the unit is always grounded to avoid electrical shocks.

  • Make sure that the installation is done by a professional only.

  • Make sure all electrical parts covered properly and the rear wall is closed once the piping is done for installation. ​

SERVICE & WARRANTY

What does my warranty cover?

Cruise air conditioners come with a 1+ 4 year warranty which is applicable once you have registered your product on our website. Warranty for 1 year from the date of purchase is applicable on the entire unit i.e. the compressor, refrigerant, labour, and all other functional components. The compressor is covered for the remaining four years. Standard warranty does not cover components like plastic parts (front panel and frame louvers and clips), sheet metal parts (coils and the metal body of the ODU), remote control and gas charging. Onsite warranty for Portable ACs is not available. Service and repair complaints about Portable Acs will be attended at Authorized Service Centres only.


Warranty will be considered null & void under the below conditions:



  • the product is not registered & not purchased from an Authorized Cruise Channel Partner.

  • improper handling & installation by unauthorized personnel during the warranty period.

  • defects caused due to misuse and abnormal power supply and polluted or corrosive atmosphere.

  • damage caused due to natural calamities, corrosion, rodents etc. You can register your product here.

Why should I get a preventive maintenance service?

Depending on the operating environment and service conditions the performance of your AC will deteriorate over the period of time. Regular inspection will help identify problems which may cause untimely failures e.g. gas leakage, rusting, corroded electrical contacts etc. Periodic cleaning and servicing are therefore essential to guard your AC against such failures and maximize the life of your AC.

Does regular AC servicing help in saving electricity?

​Regular servicing helps with consistent cooling performance of your AC over the years. It helps prevents clogging the filters, clogged filters can make the unit consume more electricity than required to perform even regular operations.​ ​It will also cut down cost on repairs, electricity and prolong the life of your AC. Hence proper maintenance is the key to efficient and effective cooling operations.

​Will I be charged for service during the warranty period?

​You can avail 2 no cost periodic maintenance services in the first year of your warranty period provided that the product is registered with the company. Common circumstances under which parts and labour will be chargeable even during the warranty period:



  • The appliance has been tampered with, subject to misuse, negligence and damaged while in transit.

  • The appliance has undergone repairs, modifications, or dismantled by any other person or company not authorised by the company.

  • Defect caused by abnormal voltage or in-coming power supply from a generator.

PRODUCT INSTALLATION

Are installation charges applicable separately?

Yes, standard installation charges are applicable for installation & additional piping if required depending on the placement of the Indoor and outdoor Air conditioning unit.

​How to choose a proper placement for installation of you AC?

​It is recommended that there is no obstruction near the inlet or outlet of the AC unit. Select a location where the condensation water can be dispersed easily. Make sure that the split AC is installed at a height of minimum 1 ft from the ceiling and the power supply matches with the requirement of the air conditioner. An unstable power supply or incorrect wiring may cause malfunction.

What to avoid while planning your AC installation?

​Plan your installation keeping the below points into consideration:



  • Avoid spaces with too much clutter.

  • Make sure that the unit is away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and areas where prone to leakage of flammable gases.

  • Avoid installation near other electronic appliances​.

REMOTE CONTROL OPERATION

How do I set the AC on cooling mode?

​COOL Mode is a default mode in which the AC runs as per the temperature setting, fan speed and swing setting at which it is set. Keep pressing the MODE button till you see (snowflake icon). Then proceed to adjust the temperature by using the (up & down arrow) and set the temperature. You will also have to adjust the FAN SPEED and SWING for optimum cooling. The ideal temperature for thermal comfort and electricity saving is 25-degree Celsius​.

What is the function of the other modes on the remote?

The multiple AC modes mentioned below help you in experiencing optimum cooling. However, it is important to adjust the Fan speed and swing for a better cooling experience. You can select these modes by pressing the MODE button until the icon of the mode you require is displayed on the remote display.



  • AUTO MODE (icon)- The AC automatically sets the temperature and fan speed depending on the room temperature. Set temperature can’t be adjusted and will not be displayed as well.

  • DRY MODE (icon) - The AC operates at low fan speed to remove excess humidity in the room. This helps in keeping your room cool and dry.

  • HEAT MODE (icon) - The AC performs the heating operation by blasting air to warm your room. You can use adjust the temperature, fan speed and swing as per requirement.

  • TURBO MODE (icon) - Under COOL or HEAT mode, press this button to turn to warm or cool your room quickly. In this mode, the room is cooled effectively as the fan speed operates at the maximum speed.

What is the function of TIMER ON / TIMER OFF button?

TIMER allows you to operate the AC depending on your personal requirement for specified time of your choice. After setting the required temperature press the TIMER ON/OFF button once and then adjust the time when you wish the AC to switch OFF using the (up or down button). Press TIMER ON/OFF button again to set the TIMER OFF.


TIMER ON allows you to switch ON the AC after the TIMER OFF operation is done. Select TIMER ON/OFF button once and adjust the time when you wish the AC to switch ON. using the (up or down button). Press TIMER ON/OFF button again to set the TIMER ON. Note that the AC needs to be ON and the CLOCK should be set as per actual time to set both the timers. TIMER ON can be set only after you have set the TIMER OFF. You can cancel the timer funtion by selecting the TIMER ON/OFF button anytime when the function is on.

How to set temperature?

​To set the temperature switch ON the AC and select the Cooling Mode. If you do not see the (snowflake icon) then you need set the MODE to COOLING MODE. Follow the steps provided in the COOLING Mode description above to do so.
